Luís habló en el velatorio de Juan de los Santos, donde políticos abogaron por más control del porte y tenencia de armas
Santo Domingo.- El candidato presidencial del Partido Revolucionario Moderno (PRM), Luis Abinader, llamó a la sociedad dominicana a unirse contra la violencia que la afecta, a fin de evitar hechos como el que segó la vida del alcalde de Santo Domingo Este, Juan de los Santos.

Abinader habló en la funeraria Blandino, donde acudió para expresar sus condolencias a los familiares del alcalde, asesinado a tiros ayer por Luis Esmelin Féliz Féliz, que además mató al guardaespaldas Alcides de Jesús Medina y posteriormente se quitó la vida.
Tanto Abinader como el presidente Danilo Medina, otras figuras políticas y funcionarios del Gobierno, expresaron su consternación por la trágica muerte de De los Santos, al presentarse en la funeraria donde son velados sus restos.

Tras expresar sus condolencias, también, a la familia del guardaespaldas Alcides de Jesús Medina, otra víctima del hecho violento, Abinader expresó: “Es evidente que este modelo no puede continuar. Esta violencia no puede continuar. Toda la sociedad tiene que unirse contra la violencia y cambiar este modelo. Por eso llamamos a toda esta sociedad a unirnos para parar la violencia”.
