Al menos dos militantes del PLD mueren en enfrentamientos en la convención
Santo Domingo.- La convención del Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD) para escoger a los candidatos a 15 diputaciones, 82 alcaldes y 122 directores de distritos municipales se vio empañada con la muerte confirmada de dos militantes: Erasmo Antonio Medina Espinal, en el sector Los Ciruelitos, de Santiago de los Caballeros, y Yeral Pérez y Pérez, en Pescadería, de Barahona.
A los incidentes en que murieron ambos militantes peledeístas se le suman otros hechos, como la suspensión de la convención en los municipios de Dajabón y Loma de Cabrera, la herida de otro hombre en Villa Mella, donde se originó un tiroteo y fue herido el chofer de un camión que transportaba valijas con los materiales de la convención; al menos 8 heridos en La Ceiba, de la provincia La Altagracia; el robo de urnas en Rancho Arriba, de Ocoa; el ingenio Consuelo, de San Pedro de Macorís; así como quema de urnas y enfrentamientos entre grupos rivales en distintos puntos del país.
Danilo y Leonel lamentan
Tanto el presidente de la República, Danilo Medina, como el ex presidente y presidente del PLD, Leonel Fernández, lamentaron los incidentes.
“Yo no creo que haya nada en la vida que tenga el valor para anteponer la vida de una persona, yo no me imaginaba jamás que eso pudiera ocurrir en el PLD, pero es un hecho que todos rechazamos y lamentamos, por suerte el agresor está preso”, expresó Medina a los reporteros que le preguntaron luego de votar en el Instituto de formación Docente Félix Evaristo Mejía.
En cuanto al caso de Villa Mella, el jefe del Estado lo calificó como un caso aislado y dijo que se trató de un delincuente que hizo disparos al aire.
Mientras que Leonel Fernández publicó en su cuenta de la red social Twetter que “lamento profundamente la muerte de dos compañeros, así como la ocurrencia de varios incidentes, en el transcurso de las primarias del PLD”.
Fernández escribió su twitter poco después de emitir su voto, ya que al ser abordado por los reporteros en el centro de votación evadió referirse a los hechos cuando fue abordado por los reporteros.
No obstante, el ex mandatario consideró que “La mayoría de la familia peledeísta acudió, como tradicionalmente lo hace, de manera ordenada y con espíritu militante”.
Comisión minimiza hechos
Sin embargo, pasadas las 4:00 de la tarde de ayer la Comisión Electoral de la Convención del PLD en cierta forma minimizó los incidentes, señalando que “una minoría muy pequeña se salió de su cauce, pero la mayoría de la familia ha actuado a la altura de las circunstancias”.
Hablando a nombre de la Comisión, Lidio Cadet observó que esa minoría representaba apenas el 2% de los peledeístas, ya que en un 98% el proceso se había desarrollado con normalidad.
“La convención del PLD ha superado las expectativas del partido, ya que en el 98% no hubo ningún tipo de inconvenientes y que solo en un 2% hubo incidentes, incluyendo los dos muertos. El vocero Lidio Cadet dijo que la comisión demanda una investigación exhaustiva por la muerte de dos personas, una en Barahona y otra en Santiago”, expresó.
A seguidas Cadet dijo: “Estamos demandando una investigación exhaustiva que dé como resultado un contundente ejemplo a la sociedad dominicana de personas que no respetan la vida de los demás. La vida es sagrada: Dios nos ha dado la vida y solamente esa vida puede cesar cuando hemos cumplido el cometido del cual vinimos acá, que es servir a la sociedad”.
En consecuencia, precisó: “La comisión nacional está esperanzada de que bajo ninguna circunstancia la aplicación de la ley de manera rigurosa no se ponga ahora de manifiesto; eso está en el corazón de toda la comisión y del partido que no comulga con esa acción. La comisión está indignada”.
Incidente de Santiago
Erasmo Antonio Espinal Medina era un conocido militante del sector del presidente de la Cámara de Diputados, el leonelista Abel Martínez, quien disputa la candidatura a la alcaldía de la ciudad de Santiago a Monchy Rodríguez, de la corriente del presidente Danilo Medina.
Seguidores de ambos grupos se acusaron de fraude y los abelistas afirmaron que los monchistas habían trasladado en vehículos de los Comedores Económicos a personas de otros municipios a votar en Santiago. Simpatizantes de Martínez denunciaron que
no aparecieron en el padrón físico, pero sí en la lista digital del partido.
Mientras que Abel Martínez vinculó al matador con el tráfico de drogas y declaró que “anteayer nosotros denunciamos ante el jefe de la Policía al asesino que hoy cometió ese acto de cobardía, nosotros lo denunciamos y le mencionamos nombres, le mencionamos lo que es, lo que ha representado en los barrios de Santiago”, dijo el político tras ejercer su derecho al voto en el proceso.
Dijo que minutos antes de ofrecer sus declaraciones llamó al procurador general de la República, Francisco Domínguez Brito, a quien reveló el nombre del matador y los detalles de una conversación que tuvo con el jefe de la Policía Nacional y el de la Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas sobre informaciones de los planes del asesino de su seguidor.
Otro trauma registrado en Santiago sucedió en el distrito municipal de Canabacoa, donde se suspendieron las votaciones debido a que las boletas y demás materiales llegaron pasada la una de la tarde. En ese distrito, perteneciente al municipio de Puñal se escogerían al candidato a director de la junta distrital de esa demarcación para cuya posición optarían Charles Albino, Alberto Calderón, William Fernández y Víctor Sánchez.
Otros traumas
Al informar sobre la suspensión de la convención en Dajabón, Héctor Olivo, director de prensa del PLD, dijo que en esa provincia se habían presentado serios inconvenientes.
La senadora y presidenta provincial del PLD Sonia Mateo responsabilizó de la suspensión a Olgo Fernández, director del Instituto Nacional de Recursos Hidráulicos (Indrhi), de quien dijo quiere lucrarse de los gobiernos del PLD y aseguró que 24 de los aspirantes a regidores en esa provincia son empleados del funcionario en la dependencia estatal.
En La Vega, el precandidato a la Alcaldía, Bolívar Marte, anunció que impugnará la convención, alegadamente por el robo de urnas y el dislocamiento del padrón electoral por parte del alcalde y reeleccionista, Alexis Pérez.
En Mao 11 aspirantes a regidor se retiraron alegando que el proceso estaba viciado y que tenían informaciones de que los ganadores ya estaban preseleccionados.
También se produjeron incidentes en el municipio Angelina y el distrito municipal Comedero, en la provincia Juan Sánchez Ramírez, donde el proceso fue suspendido por el dislocamiento del padrón electoral y la tardanza en la llegada de los materiales y casos similares se presentaron en los distritos municipales de La Peña, en la provincia Duarte, y Matancita, en María Trinidad Sánchez. l

La Comisión Electoral del PLD anunció que será al medio día de hoy que dará a conocer el primer boletín de la convención parcial que se desarrolló ayer en los niveles congresual y municipal. El director de prensa del PLD, Héctor Olivo, al dar a conocer a las 9:10 de la noche el boletín cero (0) de la convención, justificó la información, señalando que el conteo es un proceso complejo por la cantidad de puestos que se eligen.
