Cientos asisten a Funglode para felicitar a Leonel Fernández
Santo Domingo.- Decenas de personas se encuentran en la sede de la Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) para felicitar al expresidente de la República Leonel Fernández, quien cumple hoy 62 años.
La actividad se llevó a cabo en la sede de la Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo-Funglode-, de donde Fernández también es presidente. En el lugar se observó una larga fila debido a la cantidad de personas que acudieron.
El exjefe de Estado agradeció las muestras de afecto y mostró su fe en el venturoso porvenir de la República Dominicana.
Entre las personas que se encuentran dentro de Funglode están los senadores de Puerto Plata y Pedernales, Francis Vargas y Dionis Sánchez. Los senadores de Valverde, Manuel Guichardo, y de La Romana, Amarilis Santana, esta última acompañada de su esposo el exsenador Enrique Martínez.
Han felicitado al presidente el exministro de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones, Víctor Díaz Rúa y el jurista Flavio Darío Espinal.
El exjefe de la Policía Guillermo Guzmán Fermín le ha traído libros, uno de ellos “En el Poder y en la Enfermedad”, de David Owen.
También están el exministro de Industria y Comercio, Eddy Martínez, el presentador de televisión y periodista Carlos Batista, el exministro de las Fuerzas Armadas general Pedro Peña Antonio.
También se encuentran diputados de la corriente leonelista en ese partido -entre ellos el actual vocero del bloque, Rubén Maldonado-, otros miembros de la Cámara Baja, regidores y dirigentes del PLD.

Reinaldo Pared Pérez, secretario general del Partido de la Liberación Dominicana y Francisco Javier García, miembro del Comité Político del PLD, enviaron una felicitación al ex Presidente Leonel Fernández, Presidente del PLD a través de sus cuentas en Twitter.
“Mis felicidades en su cumple al gran ser humano y extraordinario dirigente político y estadista, compañero Leonel Fernández”, escribió Pared Pérez en su cuenta de la red social Twitter, la que completó con los mejores deseos de una “larga vida y salud”.
De igual modo, Francisco Javier García, miembro del Comité Político, felicitó también al expresidente a través de la misma red social.
“Muchas felicidades en su cumpleaños al compañero Presidente @Leonel Fernández. Salud, larga vida y éxitos al líder del PLD”, comentó García.
Fernández gobernó el país en tres períodos. Fue el primer Jefe de Estado salido de las filas del Partido de la Liberación Dominicana, organización de la que fue electo presidente en enero del año 2002.
El político es hijo de José Antonio Fernández Collado y Yolanda Reyna Romero. Nació el 26 de diciembre de 1953 en San Carlos y creció en Villa Juana .Fernández se formó académicamente en Nueva York, Estados Unidos.
